A MUDA-approved site is a plot in a residential layout whose plan was approved by the Mysuru development authority. In May 2025 the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) was replaced by the Mysuru Development Authority (MDA), and approvals MUDA granted continue under the new authority. Here is what that means for you, how to check an approval yourself, and the approved layouts AMACS India has on sale now.

What “MUDA-approved” means now

The Mysuru Development Authority Act, 2024 (Karnataka Act 39 of 2025) came into force on 23 May 2025. It dissolved MUDA and set up the Mysuru Development Authority for the same Mysuru local planning area. Permissions MUDA had granted are treated as granted under the new Act, so a layout approved by MUDA keeps its approval. Most buyers and sellers still say “MUDA-approved”, and so do we.

Outside the authority’s planning area, layouts are approved by the planning authority for that area. In the Mysuru market these are usually described as “DTCP-approved”. Read more in our guide to MUDA, MDA and DTCP approval.

How to check a layout’s approval yourself

  1. Ask for the approved layout plan and check that it carries the authority’s approval and reference number.
  2. Find your plot number on that plan, and ask whether it is in a lot that has been released for sale.
  3. Check the title documents, the encumbrance certificate and the e-khata for the plot.
  4. For a project that needs RERA registration, look up its number on rera.karnataka.gov.in.
  5. If you are unsure, have a lawyer check the documents before you pay a token.

Questions about MUDA-approved sites

Is MUDA approval still valid after MUDA became the MDA?

Yes. The Mysuru Development Authority Act, 2024 treats permissions granted by MUDA as granted under the new Act, so an approved layout plan stays valid.

What is the difference between MUDA-approved and DTCP-approved?

Both mean a planning authority approved the layout plan. MUDA (now the MDA) approves layouts in the Mysuru planning area; layouts outside it are approved by the authority for that area and are usually called DTCP-approved in Mysuru.

Can I get a bank loan for a MUDA-approved site?

Banks generally lend for plots in approved layouts with clear titles, subject to their own checks.

Which MUDA-approved layouts does AMACS India have on sale?

Avenue Brindavan, My-Sooru Layout, JJ Enclave, Kateelu Elite, Hari Hara Enclave and Ganga Enclave, listed in the table above.
